Green pea potato chops

Difficulty: Moderate

• 3 – potatoes
• 1 cup – green peas, boiled and shelled
• 1 tbsp – refined flour
• 6 tbsps – oil
• 1 – onion, chopped
• 1 – tomato, chopped
• 1/2 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – garam masala powder
• 3 tbsp – rice flour
• Salt to taste

• Boil, peel and mash the potatoes.
• Mix in the salt and flour to make a soft dough.
• Shape dough into 8 equal balls and set aside.
• Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan.
• Saute the chopped onion till golden brown.
• Add the chopped tomato and cook till soft.
• Add the green peas, chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt to taste.
• Cook for 2 minutes.
• Remove from heat and leave to cool.
• Flatten each potato ball on your palm into a 2-inch circle.
• Place 1 tbsp of green pea filling in the centre and bring the edges together to make a ball.
• Roll in rice flour and deep fry till golden.
• Serve hot with tomato sauce.
